Pre-launchSpartan Trust is not open yet: nothing here can be bought and there is nothing to sign in to. Early adopters will be invited first.
Your customers’ scores, honestly attributed.
One version of the truth: the same Passport your customers and their buyers see, so your work, the causes of lost points and the trajectory are on one record. The Passport stays your customer’s.
Managed Trust is designed so that an MSP or MSSP gets a tool to justify better security practices, not an accusation. It is opening to selected partners, and it is not open yet.
When one of your customers is assessed, every point the estate fails to earn reads as a mark against your own work, and you see it before or alongside them. An instrument that cannot say whose problem a lost point is will be read as an accusation. Managed Trust is designed so that it can.
It is for operators — managed service and managed security providers — and for the monitoring, technology and foundational partners they work with.
Both sides bring their own community along: a buyer brings its suppliers and an MSP brings its customers, so security improves for everybody rather than one company at a time.
Nothing here is open to book yet. If you operate other companies’ estates, the one thing to do is tell us about yours.
What “Managed Trust” means
- Many businesses hand the running of their security to a managed service or managed security provider. Managed Trust is our name for doing that so the trust can be seen: the business, the provider and the people who depend on them all read one record.
- It keeps three jobs apart. The business owns its Passport and decides what to accept. The provider operates the controls and shows its work. A named assessor accepts the evidence. Running the controls and judging them are different jobs, done by different people.
- That matters to a buyer, because a provider’s word is not evidence. It matters to a provider, because every point a customer loses carries its cause, so a score becomes a working document instead of an accusation.
- Managed Trust is not a replacement for your provider, and it is not a score for the provider. It is designed, it is opening to selected partners, and it is not open yet.
What is in it for you
- Every lost point gets a cause: unlicensed, declined, unconfigured or unevidenced. A score becomes a working document rather than a verdict, and the operator is a third role, declared by your customer and never claimed by you.
- An upsell and a justification tool. The surface leads with the slope, not the level: the level belongs to your customer, the trajectory is the part you control, and it is the case for better security practices.
- Risk transfer. When a customer declines a control you recommended, the record says so, with a date. Your recommendation is yours to keep.
- The Passport stays the customer’s. It belongs to the supplier and travels with them. If you leave, the score may fall, and it will be the truth: it says evidence stopped when your authority ended, not that protection is absent.
- Stop holding standing admin. Work through permits instead of standing administrator access in your customers’ tenants, and keep the record of what was done.
- One standard across your book. You will set your own standard across your customers and raise their Passports together, rather than one engagement at a time.
- Your own Passport, public, as proof that you take trust seriously. Your own standard stays private.
- Pricing and resale: partner pricing is agreed with each partner. You will be able to resell the Spartan Business Cybersecurity Passport to your own customers at a margin, and there may be discounts when you do. The customer is always billed for their own Passport. Nothing can be bought yet, and this may change before we open.
How we intend to work with you
- We do not sell to your customer unless the customer asks, or has marked your contract as ended. That state is the customer’s, and you will be able to see it in the record.
- The operator drafts and the customer signs: the attestation stays with the owner of the document.
Where this stands
- Managed Trust is a design, recorded as proposed, and it is opening to selected partners. It is not open yet, and no partner is live.
- What is described here is what Managed Trust is designed to do.
What to do next
A partner enquiry: what you operate, the services you run and the region. A person reads it and writes back. Nothing is opened or booked by sending it.
